Pasta Party
Sebastian is a chef! A lover of food, complicated recipes, hot sauce and pasta! Sebastian also loves to share his culinary creations with others. Feeding people brings him joy! I can relate but don’t have his talent!
So for his birthday celebration this year after an afternoon at the arcade, he taught his buddies how to roll out some pasta and make some Sunday sauce for a family meal to mark his 14th year.
It was messy…flour found its way into every crevice of the kitchen, but it was fun too! The boys didn’t know how much they needed kneading and were quite impressed with themselves (rightfully so) as their sheets of dough slid through the pasta crank and were later topped with Bolognese, Pesto or Carbonara. Multiple helpings were dished out, as were lots of compliments to the chefs!
At a time when feeding others has become controversial, my birthday wish for my birthday boy is that he never looses the messy joy of sharing his passions, creating meals and feeding others, and that the world never looses sight of how important this gift is. The nourishment for the body and soul that comes from inviting people to your table (friends, family, and strangers alike) and giving them a plate of delicious food is such a blessing and a privilege, and I pray that we collectively hold tight to that gift for Sebastian and his buddies forever!
Happy Birthday, Sebbie! Buon Appetito!
